DOCUMENTARY
STORYTELLING

Jana uses the environment a painter uses a clean canvas, constructing an image, an ideal constellation of narrative and form, often juxtaposing reality with surreality. The process itself is a meditation of sorts, it forces the artist to stay in the moment. Focus the senses.

She strives to create visual order in a world [and the world's surreal reflections], where every moment gets lost in infinity. Jana believes the process of capturing life in the right moment is similar to the creation of a Buddhist mandala. It is not complete until all the pieces of sand are layered according to the pattern. After the piece is finished, it is [destroyed and] lost in foreverness.
