BLUE SERIES
These abstract meditative studies of the unpredictable nature of Lake Superior serve as an informative lesson on art of letting go, communicated through photographs and paintings. Pensive atmosphere is described by using shades of blues, hues of grays, forms of unfocused horizon and quiet quality of the water pattern. The horizon becomes a brown line, deep shades of blue water transpire into whites. These images were originally created to help the artist understand the nature of metamorphosis and ambiguity. The cold wax paintings were inspired by the mood and emotion of the photographs, the expressiveness of the medium is radiating through negative space, heavy textures, gold metallics and sand, to evoke an immediate experience.
